I was raised in a small town on the shores of Lake Michigan. The strong moral values of my working class family influenced my early development as an artist. My rediscovered belief in God continues to provide guidance and inspiration today. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1980 following 4 years as US Navy illustrator draftsman. I have worked successfully as a fine artist for over 23 years using a variety of media, from oils to watercolors, witnessed by the images in my portfolio here. More importantly, however, is my goal to capture personality and spirit in a portrait. While most artists say that the art itself is their greatest motivator, I look at the situation from a different perspective. Seeing my clients satisfied with the final artwork is always my greatest reward.
