| Barbara Siegal moved to San Diego in 1977 from Queens, N.Y. She graduated cum laude from Queens College in 1976 with a BA degree in Fine Art. She is also a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design and attended oil painting classes at the Art Students League in New York City. Here in San Diego, she studied with many well, noted watercolorists.
Although she expanded to oil and acrylic, Barbara's first love was painting in watercolor. A full-time artist, she paints mostly in a traditional manner, focussing on landscapes, seascapes, florals, people, animals and still lifes. Sometimes she paints from imagination. There are two elements that are recognizable in her work. One is the bold, brilliant and beautiful hues with which she creates her paintings and the other is the feeling tranquility which seems to come across in her work.
