24-7 HOW to SURVIVE in BEVERLY HILLS &LIVE to TELL ABOUT IT... with Jackie Chan, Brett Ratner, Dennis Miller and Kirk Douglas ON THE DAY of my first Hollywood premiere, I wake to the whir of production vans outside my window. About

cyn. zarco/foto-a-go-go
South Beach made me do it. In the mid-'80s, photo ops were on every corner. Not just for Calvin Klein photographer Bruce Weber and Michael "Miami Vice" Mann, but for anyone with an eye and a point-and-shoot. As the original Up Late scene columnist for Ocean Drive , I covered the waterfront. I never left home without my camera. Inspired by Warhol-ites Paige Powell, Tama Janowitz and Patrick McMullan, I shot what I liked. Here are some of the people I met along the way.
