About the artist
Deborah Carew
Raised in rural Ontario, Canada, Deborah Hamilton Carew has been painting most of her life. Guided by this rural upbringing, she attributes it to her choices in subject matter. “Had I grown up in downtown Toronto where I was born,” she says, “my painting would have taken a different direction.” Studies in a two-year art course in her twenties led, some time later, to a four-year tutorial with wildlife watercolourist Terrence Andrews.
