Painting the beautiful things around me, like animals, landscapes and flowers, is what I like to do. I am surrounded by beauty in Washington State. I see deer, wild turkeys and other wild animals right outside my window.

| I love to paint! When I finish a painting, I have the feeling that it is my best painting ever! But then I soon start another painting and somehow I think that I can make this new one just a little bit better. And so the self challenge goes on.
I paint the things in life I love most. I paint flowers, and animals, and landscapes. At first I chose to paint those things in my yard and on our farm. As my career in art expanded, I met other artists that challenged me to travel a bit and plein air paint scenes in the northwest. WOW! How exciting to paint Trout Lake with Mt. Adams in the distance.
Art was my favorite subject in grade school. I studied art history and took drawing and painting classes in high school. I also took art classes at Oregon State University. I have studied many books on art as well as many, many videos of art lessons in oil painting and acrylics. And I have taken workshops with other artists including Jerry Yarnell.
