| A Brief Life:
Douglas James Martin is tempted by pigment, but shamed by the muttering of flowers. He distrusts poetry, but is fond of verse. He lives by counterpoint, but is happy that the song is dead. He has worked variously as a lecturer in English, a drone in Systems, and a pretender in Bioinformatics. A native of Canada, a renegade from Boston, he now resides, stateless, in San Diego.
Sight and Satiation
If I were a virtuous man, I would not blur further the glutted vision of our age. And yet, I still smile at the labyrinth of waterworks, at the words traced furtively in wet cement. You may be relieved to hear that I have nothing to say, though I listen for the whispers of the thing-in-itself.
