| _ i strayed into the arts in my mid-twenties after an initial career pursuit in international diplomacy (BA in international politics) and subsequently worked both in the uk parliament and the usa senate. i became disillusioned and personally unfulfilled with this life-choice. social justice or the lack of thereof comes to mind. ___ upon some serious introspection, i exited stage left and leapt into art school. (six years, BFA/MFA). hmmmm, go figure..........right brain vs. left brain. thereafter, i reentered life's mainstream as an 'emerging artist'. little did i know what lay head. i can only liken it to leaping out of a 50 story window without a parachute.
i was influenced by artists such as: franz kline, hans hoffman, vito acconci, frank stella, gerhard richter, robert rauschenberg, antonio tapies, andy wrhol, marcel duchamp, chris burden, john baldessari, david hockney, jean paul basquiat, dan graham, christo, joseph beuys, anselm kiefer, louise nevelson, cy twombly, arnulf rainier, paul klee, and... |
