Julie Koenig 
Julie Koenig graduated from the University of Illinois Medical Center as a Biocommunications Artist (Medical Illustrator). Her training involved very detailed and realistic renderings of human anatomy and surgical techniques; along with design and color theory classes. After graduation Julie worked in health care developing a graphic design position at Highland Park Hospital. She went from there to a medical advertising agency, and eventually opened her own design firm specializing in design and advertising for non-profit organizations. In the late 1990's Julie began to experiment with watercolor painting and developed a deep love and connection with the medium. Her work is in many private collections and has been exhibited throughout the Chicagoland area. As an ovarian cancer survivor Julie was involved with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, and one of her paintings was selected and used in the organization's promotional materials.
