Realistic or abstract, beautiful or ugly, terrifying or comforting, Art represents and reflects that which is common to all and distinct to each, and thus, we all share in it as we all share in the common joys, trials, and triumphs of being human.

 | | This sequence of work draws upon the symbolism, and to a certain extent, the style of the story-paintings of Australia’s aboriginal population, a tradition rich in understanding of the Divine and its relation to human beings. |
 | | This is a gallery of odds and ends, works that display a variety of ideas but that don't necessarily fall into a natural grouping by style. |

| "Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore." - Lord Chesterfield--
It is an awkward thing to describe oneself in an "about" page...and I think I probably do enough to reveal myself with paint and music... I guess I could add that when I'm not painting, or desperately trying to develop some competence playing Irish flute, penny whistle, guitar, or piano, I'm teaching high school English and French, raising two fascinating children, spending time with my husband, or talking spirituality with the brilliant and interesting people I have the good fortune to call friends --including my wonderfully eccentric mother-in-law and my ever-supportive and talented mother (who is also featured on this site http://www.zhibit.org/profile/mdbrennan ) and my most ingenius daughter--who appears to be following in the artistic/musical family footsteps :D ( http://www.zhibit.org/kayajuliet ) . Love and gratitude to you all. |
