This piece was started in the fall of 2010 and was just finished yesterday. It's the longest stretch I've ever gone when working on a painting, always wondered where the dates came from, or more so why the paintings took so long. (i.e. 2010-12')
The piece was started right after the mining disaster in South America where the miners actually survived after being trapped deep under for a very long time. It's dedicated to people who risk their lives for their trade, in search of their riches if not just sustenance.

Statement: “A fusion of experiences throughout my life told through abstract works. They encompass people i have met in places i have been, and alter egos i re-create from the impressions these special folks or places make upon me."
My work is introspective, and most of the pieces have something to do with me or an alter ego of some sorts, in many cases self portraits. What am I trying to say with it?, well, that's for you to decide. Perhaps there is a little bit of me in all of us... (In other words the intent is to celebrate those traits which make us human).
