| I grew up in Helena, Montana where I was surrounded by natural beauty. I took an interest in art early in my life because I was inspired by the wild places I explored with my father and brother. Fly fishing Montana's rivers and hunting in the hills and fields filled me with the desire to recreate those beautiful places and memories. I was introduced to the works of Charles M. Russell, Montana's "Cowboy Artist", at a young age. His artwork captivated me and fueled my desire to paint and draw. Today, I am still influenced by Russell along with other favorites of mine such as Philip R. Goodwin, Robert K. Abbett, Brett J. Smith, Bob Kuhn and many others. I recently moved to Portland, Oregon and I am excited to paint in the beautiful landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
