 | | I really enjoy painting things that others see as normal, everyday objects. I usually choose my topic based on colors and if I'm attracted to the image. |

| Hi! My name is Kate Wallisch and I have just recently graduated from Penn State University, majoring in Visual Arts with a concentration in Drawing and Painting. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and am living here now for the time being. I have loved to draw ever since I was small but discovered a love for painting in the past couple of years. My inspiration seems to stem from random things I see or hear or just randomly come up with. Many of my ideas come from just before I fall asleep at night, although I usually only remember about half of those ideas. |
| The Art of Student Teaching My student teaching is now over... the students at AIM will stay in my heart forever! | | Creative License- blurry pic This is a piece I just started on yesterday when I was having Artists Block with my painting of the baby. I can't believe that is taking me SSOOO loongg. Anyway, I just kind of went wild on this painting with not much intent. | | Inspired By: Suzanne McClelland: A Heap of Greens
I’ve been looking at Suzanne McClelland’s work for some time now ever since I saw her featured in a magazine. I love to look at other artists work to learn about their techniques and inspirations. I love the looseness of her strokes and how it seems like they were so fearlessly put on the canvas. | | "What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything." ~Vincent VanGogh
So this is my first blog entry. Bear with me and we'll see how it goes! :)
I'm still living in Pittsburgh and have been on the hunt for jobs in Philadelphia. It has been more difficult than I thought, especially with the state of the economy, i suppose. |
