| I've had a passion for art since childhood. Growing up I was motivated to create. The birth of my daughter further inspired me and I have just recently taken to pastels and portrait/ figurative art. Painting the human portrait and figure is my true passion. I am not an academically trained artist but am dedicated to learning. Recently my work has been accepted into quite a few shows (remember, I've only bee at this since June of 2010) and I feel honored to have had my work shown publicly.
To capture individuality and personal essence on a 2 dimensional plane through the placement of shapes, marks, and color fills my creative need like nothing else. It has taught me to really "See" the world in front me. With each stroke I learn something new.
I've chosen Pastel as my medium because of it's intimacy and it being immediate. There's something about holding pigment in your hand and placing it's mark on the chosen support.
