Lightfield Soul Streams

Artist directory :: Lightfield Soul Streams

Lightfield is my name, but it's more than just what's on my driver's license. It's a belief; it is the core of my being and is reflected in my art and life. These Soul Streams are the result of years working through, around and beyond an idea.

Adam
Just finished a painting" Adam ", to go with "Eve " I love it and I can't show it to anyone. Why? Am I too attached? afraid? No one can love him like I do? Did they so love their Jesus they couldn't share? Is that why the earliest written accounts start generations later? What would happen if I didn't share Adam ? Does it become the...
Dolor Dictat
Everyone loves the Greeks, whether they know it or not."Mense sano en corpore sano." A sound mind in a sound body. Ideal The Romans loved the Greeks and copied much of their sculpture. But when the Romans looked at themselves they saw the warts, the creases, the scars.
I digress
Before there were Greeks there were Aegeans- the people of the seas. The Minoans were one group- in their frescos you see fresh air and sunshine. You can almost hear them laughing. The Myceneans were warriors. They left death masks and daggers.
It's Greek to Me
Whenever we talk about the ancient Greeks, we talk about perfection. It is Plato's Theory of Forms, Gods into men, men into Gods. In their sculpture they moved so quickly from awkward poses to detailed anatomy that appears so realistic. You can sense the skin and bones under the drapery.
A Mess
I like Mesopotamia, because it is so messy, with tribe after tribe taking over, empires born and die, Sumerians, Babylonians, Asyrians. There is a saying"Those who don't know their history are destined to repeat it." Bullshit. What was Mesopotamia is now Baghad, Irag was and still is at war.
