These are the hits and misses of an artist who loves (and lives) to draw and paint the human figure. I'll share my thoughts and musings on what I set out to do, what I think goes well, what doesn't go so well, and other related ramblings and doodles...

 | | This gallery of pre-2010 work contains sketches of friends, family, strangers and models I drew who all happened to be clothed. |
 | | Drawings of tame and wild animals. |
 | | I rode the bus to work from 1990-1998 and found it an excellent place to practice drawing people. I also practiced how to look away if the person I was drawing suddenly noticed me and wondered why I was staring at them. |
 | | These landscapes were all done near Denver, Colorado. I've put those made outside of the city in the "Trips" gallery. |

| I've always been interested in art for as long as I can remember. However, I didn't think that I had any particular ability in it. In fact, in both High School and College I was certain that I lacked the special "something" a person needed to become an artist so I never took any art classes. | Never Too Late to Catch Up! My poor site has become a forgotten garden that I haven’t visited in awhile. So this Memorial Holiday weekend I’ve created a new gallery for the nudes I’ve been working on this year and uploaded most of my new stuff. It feels good to get caught up. | | Faith Last year I found a quote from Kiki Smith who said, more or less, that an artist must have faith in their work. Blind faith is what’s getting me through June.
All month I’ve been in a bit of a slump. I haven’t been very happy with how my work has been turning out lately. | | Renaissance Model My figure drawing group had a last minute model we were lucky to book. H. is not only an excellent model but also an awesome wildlife and fantasy artist. |
