| I was born and raised in San Diego, CA and received my BA in Art (Painting, Photography, Printmaking) from SDSU. After careers as both a graphic designer, an MAT degree in Creative Arts, and 13 years as a high school art teacher, I am currently the Director of Game Design &Development/assistant professor at a small college in NH and the Pre-College Game Design Instructor at Rhode Island School of Design. I will be teaching an online Graphic Design Course for the University of Maine, Machias in Spring 2012. I continue to create my own art. Artist Statement
I collect and combine images to form a psychological landscape. I construct my art intuitively from both old and new fragments and enjoy working in a series to find the formal connections and personal symbols which emerge as the work develops.
Art is the evolution of the images. The final pieces come from much editing, reworking and sometimes struggling. Layers develop as the pieces age and I return to them over a period of time. My photography begins... |
