Biography Mary was born and raised in San Diego, CA and received a BFA (Painting, Black & White Photography, and Black & White Lithography) from San Diego State University in 1989. After MFA courses at UC-Santa Barbara and a career as a graphic designer, she returned to SDSU for her secondary teaching credential in Art and ESL in 1997.
