| I once had abandoned painting, I had refused to be a part of it. Painting had become like a burning fiery torch which I refused to carry any longer. I had not yet realized that the artist is himself a fiery torch which cannot be put out.
I was born in 1966 in the city of Santo Domingo in the most beautiful country in the world, the Dominican Republic. My initiation to the world of art had been an interesting one in the sense that I was immersed in visual art since my arrival to the United States at the early age of five in grammar school; this is where I was introduced to scribbling and coloring and where a deep and lifelong fascination with visual art began. Later in the seventh grade I received personal instruction from several artists in their own right which helped advance my scribbling into a working drafting skill and where art became a part of my identity.
