| I am absolutely enthralled and fascinated by this planet - the elegance, symmetry, diversity, colors, textures, and sheer design boggle my little brain multiple times a day.
Like most, I have grown up drawing on sidewalks with little neighborhood friends, and have taken art classes throughout my education. Yet, just recently, I have had a surge of energy to find myself, to create and articulate things of my own that are meaningful and of quality.
Howard Thurman once said, "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
That brings me to my current sphere of living. I'm a college student with high goals and aspirations to achieve. I am an art major attending Brigham Young University Idaho. I have very much loved taking figure and head drawing classes at school. After studying just the very tip of the iceberg on human anatomy, I am astounded at how complex and magnificent it is. It truly is God's supreme creation.... |
| Finished my 1st commission! Okay, now the curtain can be pulled back, and I can reveal all!
I finished the oil painting I was working on in secret for Bryant's wife! Yay! I am excited to have that behind me now, and hopefully on to more and more painting. I didn't realize it, but it has been 7 months since I had painted! A long time for sure - too long. | | Grandpa's Portrait and More... Hey folks!
I had surgery this last weekend, so I apologize for not posting my Grandpa's portrait sooner. If you would like to take a look, check it out under the "Drawings" tab. Tell me what you think. | | Current Art Endeavors Hello friends,
I thought I would start a casual blog on here about current art projects. Today I will be drawing a portrait of my Grandpa, Robert Carmack, hopefully to be published in his new and upcoming book entitled "From Tribes to the Modern Word-System. A Social Science Perspective on World History." (The photo is the source for my drawing.) The drawing will be in graphite, nothing super fancy, since I have to get it done today. |
