 | | I explore the duality between chance and intention. I seek to capture the process of image making as a reflection of a natural process. I observe that a single shift of a chance event within our natural world, such as earthquake or birth of a star, can cause extreme change or chaos in a seemingly stable environment. |
 | | As do the paintings, my recent mixed-media drawings further explore the duality of chance and intention. They become an visual analysis of what occurred in the paintings and they too are a process-oriented approach to image-making. |
 | | I am interested in exploring the dimensionality that is suggested in my paintings. |

| BIOGRAPHY
Nancy Voegeli-Curran's artistic practice focuses on the duality between chance and intention. Her abstract drawings and paintings explore process and the materiality of paint. Themes of chaos and order, flux and movement as affected by gravity, and the passage of time are all present in her work. Voegeli-Curran earned an MFA degree in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). She has also studied art in Florence, Italy, and at Anderson Ranch Art Center in Colorado. Her work has been exhibited in the Los Angeles area as well as nationally and internationally, and has been collected by CSULB and in private homes. Voegeli-Curran enjoys teaching and has had the opportunity to be a teaching associate at CSULB as well as a teacher intern for color... |
