| Hello, I am Natalie A. Primeaux. I have been happily married to Professor Walter J. Primeaux, Jr. Emeritus, for 62 years. I am mother of eight children, a grandmother and a great grandmother. My interest in painting began while living in Oxford, Mississippi in the early seventies. Two special art teachers introduced me to the basic techniques of still life. When we moved to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 1974 I took painting classes at the University of Illinois and drawing classes at Parkland Junior College. Since retiring to Cajun Country in 1989 I have studied oil painting at the University of Louisiana and have recently taken portait painting from a private art teacher.
Painting, for me, has become a way of capturing the beauty around us. It is a way for me to focus on and express what I hold dear in my life. My interest in people and my love of family have led me to portraits. Religious devotion has led me to painting images of the Blessed Mother and angels. My love of gardening and nature is... |
