My latest art project is Silk Painting with dyes. It incorporates several art techniques I love. I especially like silk painting for its watercolor feel and effects, and the stained glass look. In the near future will also be making some silk screened t shirts and experimenting with silk screening on silk.
Over the years I've experimented with different art mediums; I have a B.A. in art emphasizing Sculpture. I almost majored in oil painting but was allergic to the oil paints. After my degree I taught English &Art in High School and over the years migrated towards mediums that involve fabric, including tye-dye, Batik, silk-screen printing, mono printing (Marbling), and hand painted t-shirts. My influence is my Grandmother while growing up. She loved fabric and was an excellent seamstress and was always sewing something for the girls in the... |
