Each of us sees the world from a different perspective. I paint to give voice to my perspective and the part of me that finds expression difficult through other communication channels. Mymedia is primarily acrylic paint used in collaboration with papers and found objects. I believe that the energy of life exists in everything from objects of nature to the creatures of nature to human beings. While most of my work in some form is representational, I love working more now with textures and shapes to define that energy of life that I see in my subjects. Sometimes it's vibrant, often more muted.
The Alzheimer’s series was the most emotional work that I produced as my mother declined and slipped into the fog of Alzheimer’s. I watched her life energy fade.
