| Sally's interest in art and animals is a lifelong passion. Her first "wild" animal experience was trying to capture and put doll clothes on the family tom cat. The baby birds she helped her mother feed until they were strong enough to fly away was her first experience with "rescued" animals.
In 1996 she began working for the Fund for Animals, a wildlife rehabilitation center and animal sanctuary in Ramona, Ca. There she was able to study and photograph many of the native and non-native mammals and raptors under treatment. Primarily a self-taught artist, Sally used her artistic sensibilities in developing a series of acrylic paintings used in cards and T-shirts which she donated for the Center's fund raising efforts. In 2003 she began her serious study under the guidance of noted wildlife artist Joe Garcia and soon she felt the urge to explore the world of transparent watercolor.
