| Jim has always had an interest in art, but didn't have the time to take it seriously until later in life. After retiring from public service in the Los Angeles area, Jim pursued a Real Estate career on the Central coast of California from Morro Bay to Hearst Castle. The beauty of the area prompted him to begin painting. After moving to Washington State with his wife, Donna, Jim attended the Seattle Institute of Realist Art. Though largely self-taught, he has further educated himself with classes from well-known and talented artists around the United States. Although open to any subject, Jim is known for the ability to capture the spirit of children and beloved pets in his portraits. As a car enthusiast, he also enjoys painting classic cars, boats, and airplanes.
