| Even though I experimented with art growing up, and watched my artist mother paint, I didn't become passionate about painting and creating art until about 5 years ago when I was going through a period of personal exploration and deep sorrow. I realized that art was a perfect venue of expression and growth for me, and a way for me to find joy in every day life. During the last couple of years I have taken workshops from several well known California artists like Robert Burridge and Ron McKee, but I also draw on my intuitive muse and recollections of watching my mother enjoy art when I was a child. I mainly paint with acrylics on stretched canvas or treated watercolor paper, but I am also experimenting with non-traditional watercolors, mixed media, sculpture on canvas, and installation pieces. I always try to paint places that I want to hold in my memory, people that move me, and feelings or images that inspire me. I am working on a new collage series that I am having fun with. It's a great way to utilize all of the pictures and arty supplies I've gathered over the years and make something creative with it. I am using 12 "x 12" gallery wrapped canvases and sealing all of the layers together with liquid acrylic varnish. | | Blssoming
