| I love jewelry! When I was four my grandmother would open up her jewelry box and tell me to "pick one!" Hooked on jewelry at an early age, I'm still loving it.
Taking much of my subject matter from my life experiences, I create one-of-a-kind art jewelry creations from mostly recycled green materials. Inspiration from just the thrill of finding a unique pendant or bead, an entirely new jewelry creation comes to life.
Growing up in Austin, Texas in the 1950's my first introduction to the creative arts were my youthful summers at Ramsey Park and the art classes at Rosedale Elementary school. Coming from a family of limited means, my summer vacations were travels in my imagination fueled by events in my life. My creative environment was filled with symbols from daily play and learning. The swimming pool was the ocean and I was the little mermaid. I believed I could breathe underwater until the age of ten.
In the past I have created jewelry from the lost wax casting process in silver and gold.... |
