About

Shelby Skinner
I grew up on a farm in the Midwest, which inspired my love of animals. When the demands of life allowed time, I began taking art classes as a hobby. Gaining skill and confidence with each piece, I began showing my paintings in the San Diego area. While in San Diego, I learned that paintings of animals come alive when the eyes are realistic. My artwork has been influenced by years of desert living near Palm Springs and traveling the world over. In recent years, I have begun to share my love of art through teaching. I prefer to paint and teach with oil and pastel, though I have also mastered acrylic and watercolor. Recently, I established an art studio at my home in Temecula, California, and have begun conducting classes in pastel.
