| FROM THE ARTIST:
The meaning behind my work not only draws from the ocean, but also a life that is on hold for now while I pursue my academic future. A true surfer at heart that only has the ocean in my dreams for now.
I started out as a young teenager the street way, affectionately known as the tag artist SCRIBBLER, also known as a graffiti artist. This led to a few businesses offering commissions to paint murals on their walls. Eventually I started hand painting images on clothing and vehicles along with pin striping mini-trucks.
I became a surfer and would often sketch ocean scenes on my sketch pad while waiting for a good set to come in. Surfboard shapers would notice my sketches and commissioned me to paint surfboards. For a while I expressed myself with images laid-out on a board, but I really desired to work with a more natural medium as a sort of connection with what god has given us.
