| | I've always felt that I'm not inside my work if I'm not getting my hands dirty. I use a lot of pastels, and have been recently working frequently with oils, oil pastels, and, of course, my fingers. I was once instructed to resist blending with my fingers, but I've learned to make amends with myself and trust my own hands. I'm always striving to improve my technique, but I try to maintain my slant, which is a little beyond the margins of mainstream aesthetics. I definitely have more of outsider art appeal. My...
