| Art in a variety of forms has been part of Tess Flowers' life since childhood. After various community classes in painting and drawing, she discovered ceramics while at school in Illinois. During that time she also began to explore mixed media, and creating pieces from found objects. Since then she has added photography, paper sculpture, painting and restoration of stained glass, and crochet to her collection of artistic interests.
Originally from Northwest Washington State, her work is often inspired by her enjoyment of nature and travel, and by the small moments in life that so often go unnoticed. She is also influenced and inspired by her father, who has always been an avid supporter and honest critic, her mother, who taught her how to look at an object and see past its current state to its potential, and by the lives of the many strong and creative women in her family.
