Portraits A selection of portraits, including commissions.

Vortex Series Vortex: 1. A spiral motion of fluid within a limited area, especially a whirling mass of water or air that sucks everything near it toward its center (The American Heritage Dictionary) 2. any activity, situation, or way of life regarded as irresistibly engulfing (Collins English Dictionary) I cycle around Darwin's vibrant landscape, contantly inspired by vivid colours, sounds of nature, birds, weather patterns evolving the land - an unforgivable force remorselessly demanding its presence...

NZ inspired abstracts These abstracts are inspired by an interest in the experience of being human, and our relationship to the environment. The changing seasons and beautiful soft New Zealand light play a part, as well as the colours of nature in this exploration of growth and decomposition.

So what's it really like to be old? Much of my inspiration as an artist comes from my work as a nurse. During the completion of my Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design in 2007, I examined the state of exile that old people experience, notably those in aged care facilities, where they exist in a sub-culture in which lifestyle and activities of daily living are arranged by an outside, controlling body.

Human Body related series Much inspiration for these works are drawn from my work as a nurse, as well as returning home to care for my mother when she was dying of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

La Femme Celebrating the beauty of the female form, interpreting emotion through colour and painterly expression.

Darwin Life Mixed media on canvas questioning elements of the Darwin/Northern Territory, Australia, existence.

I’ve worked in galleries, and art/photographic studios, and studied a BVAD, but my bread and butter job has been as an RN. This forced intimacy is serendipitous in providing much humanity-related inspiration. Presently my endeavour is to perfect the art of balancing an incessant creative desire with productive living. In 2005 I received a $1000 grant from Creative Communities New Zealand to assist in the creation of a solo exhibition of tactile artworks for the visually impaired. My goal was to raise money and awareness during the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind's 'Blind Week'. Education BVAD (Bachelor of Visual Art &Design) 2007 Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, Nelson, New Zealand Certificate IV in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of...
