Inspiration for much of my art is roused by outdoor travel to the Hawaiian Islands, the Caribbean, the Pacific coastline and my love of food, creating savory delights in kitchens. My career encompasses one palette to another palate. I have a deep passion for both areas. An exposure to fine art and haute cuisine, made possible by my parents, began at an early age while growing up in New York City. My father was in the hospitality industry and my mother worked in the fashion and art field.
My teen years, living on the East Coast overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, would later be part of my motivation to draw and paint. Another yearning of mine was the culinary arts. After high school I started to learn about both areas back in Manhattan. By day I took a few art classes at Hunter College and at night trained in the kitchen at a distinguished Upper East Side restaurant under the tutelage of a French chef.
