| I adore metal: it's of the earth, can be solid, liquid, heavy, light...metal holds endless possibilities. It's got soul, too. I also love the history that found objects hold -each vintage button carries a story. Taking materials that are not traditionally considered precious, and setting them like jewels gives me great delight. I find rare vintage buttons and unusual natural materials like tagua nut to be more interesting to work with than sparkly gemstones. Inspiration comes from the most simple things. Vintage kitchen tools, botanical illustrations from the 19th century, seed pods that fall in my path on daily walks with my dog, the swirls of debris left by the wind and water on the beach...I'm a person tuned into the details. | Could you use a little affirmation? Just in time for a bit of holiday shopping...perfect for a stocking stuffer! I still have some inventory in these sweet silver rings, all with a different affirmation message. They are all hand-stamped letters, unisex and I have sizes 4-11.5 in my collection. Just click the photo to jump over to my etsy.com site for purchase. | | The Last Jewelry Show! Change is good and I am in the middle of big changes. After a few years working at my own business, I am changing direction. I have begun a school counseling program at Lewis &Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. | | Bits and Pieces Someone who visited my website for the first time pointed out a "missing piece" of information. Specifically, this blog. I announced my breast cancer diagnosis last December and then...*poof*, no more posts here. | | December 17 last day to ship before Christmas I've recently added a nice selection of new rings and a couple of belt buckles to the shop that you may want to check out. If you have been pondering an item and thinking about surprising a loved one ( or yourself, you've been good all year, haven't you?) with something special from twirl ...well, there is no time like the present.
As some of you have heard, I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. Your support in the form of purchases here means so much right now. |
