Encaustic Paintings
| | |
 | | My abstract paintings are a result of my allowing the encaustic wax to follow its own course. I enjoy a type of freedom when this happens. No longer focusing on a specific image I can let the wax help me to express a mood, a thought or even a dream. |
 | | My Black and White images are influenced by my appreciation and love for black and white photography. I find that by limiting myself to only black, white and shades of gray, I often create paintings which have a greater clarity than many of my color paintings. |
 | | My flower paintings are inspired, once again, by what I observe in nature and from my own imagination. I particularly enjoy these works because I can create paintings that move between bold vibrant colors and delicate soft pastels. |
 | | My landscape paintings are influenced by what I observe in nature, a photograph or my own fertile imagination. With these artworks I use the hot plate, stylus and other hot instruments to help me achieve the images I want to depict. |
 | | My Small Image paintings are influenced by what I observe in nature, a photograph or my own fertile imagination. I enter many small image shows across the United States annually. |

| Welcome I am in the process of moving--so most of my wax has been packed. I miss painting--but I know that I'll be working again soon. This is the first time I've had a blog. |
