About Women's Caucus for Art San Diego

The Women's Caucus for Art, founded in 1972, is a national, professional organization devoted to championing the contributions of women in the arts. During 1991, in San Diego, a small group of activist women artists and art historians founded a local chapter in order to inform the public regarding the role of women in the arts throughout history.


WCA Mission:

The mission of the Women's Caucus for Art is to create community through art, education, and social activism

We are committed to:

  • recognizing the contributions of women in the arts
  • providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development
  • expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women
  • supporting local, national, and global art activism
  • advocating for equity in the arts for all
