After
graduating from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston
(1981), I studied at the New England School of Art and Design, also in Boston, and began e x hibiting
my oil/Mixed media work in 1998. I have had many national and international
solo and group shows.
The inspiration for my abstractions is feminine imagery, which to me expresses
strength and vulnerability, power, mystery, and creative potential. People can
run their eyes not only over the surface of my work, but beyond it through the
openings in the canvas, and inside and over its hills and valleys.
I am represented by Trevisan International Art
(http://www.trevisan-international-art.com/), which is based in Italy
and curated by Paola Trevisan.
In addition to membership in the National Association of Women Artists, I am
also a member of the American Society of Contemporary Artists and the National Women's Caucus for Art. My poetry has been published
in numerous magazines and literary journals.
