Description of work Masculine Grounded, Feminine Flowing is
an abstraction of the relationship between a man and a woman. The man, the base, is falaced and
strong. Alone, the base is too angular and
tips easily, but combined with the flowing, feminine top the piece is perfectly
balanced. The feminine top has a tighter
curve, and is barely grounded, but immersed in the sky: in dreams and
passion. The glass piece balancing the
single form of the combined sexes is a depiction of the flow and power of all
things unexplained within life- the most powerful of all being love.
How it fits theme: Grounded and Flowing
tells the story of love. The weight of
being grounded, the exhaustion of being lifted, and the unexplained joy of the
love and protection in union.
