*The Artist*

I retired from a 20yr career in healthcare, and picked up the brushes for the first time in 2004.  I'm now able to do what I truly love and I'm thankful for this huge blessing.
I would like to describe my journey in pursuing art so far by using this quote by Emil Nolde:

"The art of an artist must be his own art. It is... always a continuous chain of little inventions, little technical discoveries of one's own, in one's relation to the tool, the material and the colors"

I cherish those  "little technical discoveries" because they make painting deeply personal and exciting. They are the tiny victories that encourage me to continue learning and to  try new things without fear of crossing technical or aesthetic boundaries.

Florida has been  a reliable source for inspiration.  The coastlines and countless natural preserve parks are wonderful areas to capture reference photos. I have found some inspiration from traveling abroad to Europe however, the  natural richness of the Florida landscape captures my heart and imagination the most.

I am grateful that my paintings  are found in  collections across the United States and Canada.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Favorite Scripture:   Rev 4:11  You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.
