| Oil, Slate, Mixed Media 2005 The idea for this piece came to me while I was in class watching a film about a sculptor who uses only items from nature to sculpt. He was watching the water pool against the rocks and turn back into the sea as his inspiration to build his sculpture using driftwood to simulate the movement of the water. Since I frequent the ocean and often use slate in my work as part of my medium, I decided to incorporate the ocean movement with interruptions from rock formations in an abstract, dreamlike state. |
