Creating Art to Wear
Creating Art to Wear 1/5/07

Creating art to wear is a fun thing to do. It can be made from metals like sterling silver, copper, brass, gold etc. or can be made from base metals and things found in everyday life. It's fun to combine textures, colors, found objects etc. and see what kind of piece you can come up with.

Creating one of a kind jewelry has been a wonderful passtime for me as a woman. I try to make each piece flow peacefully with it's metals and stones. Just the creative process can be such a stress reliever as I have found many times in my life. And, when you give someone you love something that you've created with your own hands, there is so much satisfaction that comes from it.

I have begun making custom wedding rings. It's wonderful to make something that someone will wear with such special meaning for a lifetime.

Hope you will be encouraged to go out and create something today...Blessings, Shelley

I really appreciate the way you conceptualize how the final piece of jewelery is going to appear. I guess that's at least one thing that separates the "artist" from the "manufacturer". The Southwestern flavor of your art is also very intriguing. It gives the impression that you have lived in the Southwest for most of your life, or perhaps you are Native American or have Native American blood. I love your stuff!
