Since being born abroad on a leap day in 1960 I've never been a conformist and my art reflects that to a certain extent. I've always loved to illustrate, draw and sketch since my earliest recollections. I am particularly interested in illustrating childrens books, though I have done some straight design work. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachlor of Arts degree in Communications and later earned an associates degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Houston. I've become quite adept at Photoshop 7.0. Some of my work was created totally within the computer but I still love the basics of pen and ink and have recently begun to work in sculpture. My work tends to be whimsical, because, quite frankly, I am whimsical. I also have done charicatures both in sculpy and with pen and paper and am willing to do so now upon request. I will create, upon request, in the mediums suggested above, any tasteful design desired, including charicatures in clay and/or traditional pen and ink. |
