| | Hi, my name is Katie Redick. I really got into art my senior year of high school. I was going through a rough time holding onto what little relationship I held with my mother. It was my way of expressing how I felt, and what I was going through. I spent the majority of my day in the art room. In the course curriculum we were to learn about other artists. My favorite was Jackson Pollok. He was famous for his splatter paint technique. I love his art. He is my inspiration and a role model. I try to take after is methods, and techniques. I recently entered a piece in an art show and I got a very generous compliment when someone said my painting, “looked like a Pollok.” That was the biggest accomplishment of my life so far. People keep telling me I have talent, so I’m willing to give this a shot. It has always been a dream of mine to become a “famous artist,” but now I’m starting to realize, maybe it’s not just a dream after all. |
