My 'tourist' travel is over for the year, two trips to see my family in Florida planned for Oct and Dec.  The image is from the last festival of the summer - Labor Day weekend on Quadra Island, British Columbia.  Face painting, Welly tossing and chicken poop bingo were among the games played by the residents and visitors to this idyllic little island between Vancouver Island and mainland BC.  Very relaxing and recharging trip, I took few photos but spent a fair amount of time hiking and reading and communing with my hosts at the farm B&B.

There is a reason I have never been much of a joiner - because most groups don't really manage to survive the membership issues that arise ... disinterest, scheduling snafus, disputes regarding locations and agendas, and communication.  So of the three photography groups I joined this summer, none have provided any structured regular itineraries for me to enjoy, partially due to the fact that they are based in the western suburbs or outside the city.  But I have met a few folks who have an interest in nature and architecture so I still hope to learn and share.

I have reorganized the galleries to distinguish between the Canada trips .. check out the BC and Quebec galleries.
