Redbud on Burnt Bridge Road, 24" x 30" Oil on Canvas

This is one of the few spring scenes I have ever painted which includes flowering trees; I don't know why....maybe they seem overdone or trite, but I really wanted to capture the way the light was slashing across the blooms and the new grass. It was morning, and I carried my camera with me as I went to town. Views like this were the reward, and were the inspiration for some painting.
