Volunteers:
Brad Tucker, Volunteer Photographer
A recent transplant to San Diego, I left Portland and a
successful real estate career to pursue my life's
passion---photography. My Father, an avid amateur photographer,
bestowed me with my first camera at age five. The device was an
awkward, oversized plastic Mickey Mouse novelty, activated by pulling
on poor Mickey's ear, all the while attempting not to shake or move!
Now I prefer a versatile Nikon D90X, which enables me to create and
capture the precious moments in life which tell stories and foster
memories.
Striving for professionalism, ethics, and integrity, I surround
myself with others who embrace life's incredible options...I'll allow
my peers to be the judge of my work, which can be seen at

M.E. Law began her
musical career at the age of 15 when she opened for Canadian folk legend
Willie P. Bennett in Ingersoll, Ontario at the local coffeehouse. She was paid a whopping $5 (Canadian) and knew she was onto something. Two years later she moved to Toronto and began sitting in with another Canadian legend, blues man Paul James and his band
Lick n' Stick (her brother Rick, was the bass player). Paul encouraged her to continue her performing dreams, all the while allowing her on stage with the band almost every night. At age 20, she got her first house gig at the Brunswick House, downtown Toronto
with the Saturday afternoon country jam, where she sang and played the
organ for the University of Toronto kids and the colorful regulars, A year later she began her solo career in earnest, playing 6 night gigs in northern Ontario for the next few years.
She
would then move to Vancouver, where she held down a house gig, playing
guitar and singing, at the North Vancouver hot spot, the Grape Escape
Wine Bar for two years and developed a strong following. While
playing there, she was introduced to Jann Arden (4 time Juno award
winner) and they went onto write, record and perform
together. She was then offered a contract to play piano/guitar and sing
in Nagoya Japan for four months. That turned
into five years, 3 1/2 of which were spent at the International Hotel Lounge, where she delighted many touring musicians such as Eric Clapton, Gene Simmons, Poison, Tower of Power and Ron Wood to name a few.
On her return to Toronto she began a new career as a songwriter and composer and developed another following in the folk bar
circuit, often sharing the stage with Leanne Haze, Kevin Laliberte
(Jessie Cooke's sideman for years). Several of her instrumental
pieces have been used in Canadian television shows, as well as one in the George Romero movie, "Land of the Dead".
In more recent years, she produced, and wrote the score for the award winning "dog"umentary, Wiener Takes All (following a year in
the lives of competitive dachshunds). Her next project is scoring the
music for another documentary called "A-holes" (A scientific study of jerks). She will also be working on a CD of her original songs, coming out next fall.

Re-purposed materials make lovely & creative art pieces as there is no limit
to what forms they can take upon their rebirth --from trash into
treasure. I am fondly known as the Dumpster Diva!
In fact, many in my vast network prefer to call me for pick up or
delivery of "junk" items--they wish to merely dump them, but
knowing my passion for many atypical "art" materials, their
conscience is cleared understanding that I will give their unwanted
things a new home & new life as art!
I use my
"found" or gifted objects "as is"--no cutting,
altering or revising, so the only tools I require are to fasten
the objects to their frame or base--also, generally, a found
object. Wood & metal are my materials of choice, being that
they occur from nature, but knowing how much plastic & synthetic
material is dumped into landfills & how its decomposition is very
slow, I will sometimes choose a man-made object to contrast with
the Earth's medium, wood & metal.
