ARTIST STATEMENT

Inquisitive and always eager to learn, the inspiration for my art comes from every day objects, personal emotions and interactions, music, and impressions from lots of time outdoors - My art is constantly evolving and developing - I guess my motto could simply read "Inspired by life".

Painting is always very playful and intuitive for me - A form of quiet expression and a way to escape from what society expects from us as adults. Ah, to paint as free as a child again!

My art is mostly of a non-objective and abstract nature - Some people simply say "I don't understand what this painting means", and turn away because they can not immediately identify with the subject of the painting. I love to make my expressive art accessible for everyone - And hope the viewers look at it, question it, maybe wonder what it means, but enjoy looking at my art without being afraid they "don't get it".

I don't mind sharing my thoughts and emotions that are reflected in my paintings with anyone who might want to know, but my heartfelt wish is to engage the viewers in my paintings and to encourage their very own thoughts.
