I'd Be Angry At WikiLeaks Too!

By Tom Ford

If I were such an ass as those who represent America to the world have been, I would be angry too.

When I read the context of the cables released by WikiLeaks I mostly come away with a profound shame; for my government, my country and the human race as represented by the character of those authoring those documents. And remember, these are professional diplomats and politicians, leaders whom we the taxpayers pay handsomely to represent us. I say this because there is a real danger of those of you with young, spoiled, bratty children getting confused as to what these people are.

Yes, I would be angry too. Imagine, this narrow-minded and arrogant reasoning, and absurd, toady behavior that I assumed would never be made public, being suddenly and fully exposed to the taxpayer from whom I draw my exorbitant salary and luxurious medical benefits and retirement. This is serious indeed! This could jeopardize my gig!

I would cry “foul” and expound how this is a grievous crime of a treasonous nature that puts our Intelligence (their word, not mine) community at risk and rendering it less able to violate every basic human right to promote freedom.

As the Generals in command of a military spending 10’s of billions of taxpayer dollars every month to kill thousands in the name of peace, I would be pissed!

And as the politician, who enjoys a great salary, unheard of benefits and a complete retirement on the backs of the struggling taxpayer, I would be furious that the realities of my delicate spin dance were going to be more clearly defined by truth.

The Patriot Act that took away our freedom under the guise of protecting it is not truth. The Constitutional Free Zone which voids the Constitution for the vast majority of Americans is not the truth. Like intercourse for virginity, war for peace is not truth. Where would we be if the citizenry realized that $100 Billion Dollars spent each year on social infrastructure, education, healthcare and the protection of real food and the environment would be so much more beneficial to America and the World than the War in Afghanistan?

Where would we be if the hundreds of Billions of Dollars we spend on espionage and covert carnage were spent on helping the poor? We would look weak and vulnerable. There is a REAL AND PRESENT DANGER in the truth being realized by those to whom we have lied to for so long. If people knew the truth, they might rise up, unite and turn it all around.... Naaaah. Nobody wants the truth.
