The Conflict That Will Kill Us All

In the North American Continent, the United States grew in a land (admittedly inhabited by tribes of people who didn’t share the European
sense of Society) settled by people who came from many lands.  America and eventually the United States was formed into a nation by
individuals who were acutely dissatisfied with their European Monarchy.

There were fundamental differences in the way the indigenous peoples of America and the new settlers saw themselves.

The distinguishing qualities of those philosophical differences can be summed up as those who are of the earth opposed to those who
would own the earth and dominate all life and even the nature of it.

I guess it is safe to say that science has helped us realize now that we are indeed of the earth or at least of the nature that is the earth and
that down to the very elements of our composition we are one in the same.  It’s religious belief that states the differentiation being, that we
are of a god and therefore, given divinely ordained dominion over all.  And it is a further perversion of that perspective that allows us to kill
and maim and pollute and destroy our species and the environment that sustains us.

It was that perspective that allowed those who settled America from Europe to conquer the indigenous people of this land and claim
ownership of it and all it’s natural resources.  And it is that perspective that fuels the conflicts between peoples and nature that continue to
this day, that will no doubt escalate under such philosophy until they eventually culminate in the annihilation of the human race from
among the species of life that inhabit this world.  Because it is within that doctrine that the arrogance and self-centeredness which blinds
man from ever seeing his very nature is rooted. The world will remain, and new life forms will dominate because they are likewise, of the
earth. That’s just fact.

As long as that philosophy erroneously continues its struggle to dominate the world and nature and all life within it, we will continue to
spiral toward that terminus. As long as we interact with each other from within such doctrine, we will continue to subjugate, fight and kill
each other.  As long as we deal with nature in the same manner, we will continue to destroy that in nature which sustains our life.

Without these fundamental realizations, we will never settle any conflict that causes turmoil in this world. We have lived on this world
instead of within the nature of it.  That luxury is almost used-up.  Are we intelligent enough to admit and resolve that conflict that will kill
us all it before it’s too late?
