The Tea Ladies
The “ Tea Ladies “ are circular images of a woman who’s job
it is to pick tea leaves. She has a happy face, but is trapped in the job of picking
tea leaves. Picking tea leaves is her past, present and future. Her happy face
accepts her job. Green threads circle the panels representing the fields of tea
that bind the woman to her job. Materials and images are recycled. The images of the Tea Ladies images are from a promotional brochure from Indonesia.
