"Thread
Connections" – is a Tapestry, composed
of thread encapsulated in a pair of bottles, 448 bottles in a 22 inch by 22 inch frame. Frames can be arranged in a linear, horizontal or square pattern. Each pair of bottles are connected by thread and an electronic
component arranged as a tapestry. 100’s
of different textures and colors of thread are used to make the connections. The bottles are recycled insulin bottles. The thread is
recycled from tailors, dry cleaners and individuals.
Some standard frames ( 22" x 22" ) of Thread Connections are still available. A limited number available by commission, I have a huge variety of thread.... you can choose the general palette of colors.
Framed Thread Connections in other formats such as "Sakura" are typically 8 inches by 4 or 5 feet. Long & narrow frames with a themed pallet of color!
